Hershey Park

Hershey, PA

Hersheypark ( is it one word or two?) was the first new park that I had been to in a while. Well actually that's not true since I went to Busch Gardens Tampa in February. Well whatever it was the first new park in a while with someone that I like. The park itself is a mix of odd areas that seem to make no sense. Pioneerland or whatever had very little in the way of theming. The park was nice and well maintained but it was no BGW and it seemed more confusing than KD. Oh well, the rides were a lot of fun and the water park park was nice. They had probably the best woodie I have ridden in a long time.

Comet is the first coaster that we came to. Its from 1946 and oldest in the park. The ride is very nice. The track looks a little scary but that adds to it all. This was a very nice classic coaster ride.

A cool looking bridge
Lift hill that wasn't quite striaght
This is the typical B&M inverted coaster with the loop and all but the start is different and fun and the way that HP integrated it in between Comet and SuperDuperLooper is quite fun. A typical smooth,  fun ride.

A wombat. Strangly cute
This is the coaster I was there to ride. It takes Hypersonic and makes it into what it should have been. The take off lacks some of the Hypersonic jolt but the loop, zero-degree roll and the barrel roll make up for it. A really fun coaster. And again very well integrated into the park.

SuperDooperLooper. This coaster is a really good coaster for kids and not really much else. It's just not all that good. Years ago it was...but not anymore. **

The loop
This is one of the best woodies I have ridden. It's a racing coaster with the tracks weaving in and out of eachother. It's fast, smooth and very nice. *****

This is another nice woodie. Tall and fast and rough as hell. The front isn't so bad but the back car will totally mess with your spine. ****
