November 26, 2001 Oh man I think I am still full from dinner. Well it was a good holiday. My family all went down to our friends house and had a delicions dinner and wonderful time. We do this every year and it is always so much fun. And this was the first time that Harrison had gone on a family outing and he was a delight. He slept the entire day. It was great. Then after that I ran home, avoided taking a nap, and went down to Nation for the Alcehemy evening, basically a goth / industrial night. It was fun and everyone was moving a little more lathargic than usual. The rest of the weekend was relaxation and drinking. In play news I have been cast as Dr Garcin in my friends adaption of No Exit. It looks to be a really fun role and I can't wait to try that out. But then of course during all this I am supposed to be directing Romeo and Juliet. I have no idea how I am going to do this. Looking at the rehearsal schedule I don't see myself sleeping for quite a long time and I'm going to put a hell of a lot of miles on my car in a very short amount of time. But this is what living life to the fullest is, right? November 19, 2001 So after going there for a little while I headed over to Laurel to get ready. I got there extremely early and it was what I wanted so I could run my lines again and again. So I got to the school about 5 and had an hour and a half before anyone else arrived and before they opened the school. Finally Jaki, who plays Eleanor, arrived and we went in and began to get ready. My friend Kelley, who has been in a number of Rude Mechanical productions, came by to help me with my make-up and to try and make me look like I was 50. I think she did a great job. Then as the clock got closer and closer to 8 and people began to show my heart began to beat faster and faster and the serious doubts of whether or not I could do it came floating to the top of my register. In a few words, I was scared shitless. Then the Sunday, after the cast party that made me get in bed at around 9:00 am, some friends and I saw the Harry Potter movie. Man this was the best movie. It was just like the book, and just as I had imagined. I really want to go see it again. I also wantto figure out how this craze has everyone spellbound. Everyone is reading the books, everyone has or will see the movie, and I want to know what spell she used to get this craze going. I have read the books and I am going to re-read them. I never re-read anything. Go and see it and I'll have a Lame-Ass review up soon. Also look for the captain of the Griffendor Quidditch team, he is hot, and 18. November 8, 2001 Holy shit this year is going by fast. Its seems like I dont have the time to get this journal done. Not that anyone is reading it anyway. Sigh. But anyway, the play is going really well and we have another rehearsal tonight. I missed the ones earlier in the week since I was sick with the 24 hour flu or food poisoning. Needless to say it was all sluices open and a great mass evacuation. I'm better now. In other play news, I think I am getting confidant about the night I do Henry. I think I have all the lines down and if not then it will just have to do. LOL. Also they have tagged me to be the director of the next play which is, don't wince, Romeo and Juliet. One of my favorite plays and I and my co-director have a bunch of ideas. The go against the established way of doing Shakespeare, think post-modern, industrial music and stuff, but that's they way I like it. Anyone can do period Shakespeare, and I have no problem doing that, I like it actually, but i want to do something interesting. No, I'm not going to copy the movie with the punk ass bitch Leonardo DiCaprio. Anyway, i just saw the time and I have to scoot to rehearsal. I have a bunch of photos of friends and stuff top put up so look for those in the next few days. |
