Found out my company, Northrop Grumman, donated $1 million to the disaster effort.
They
are also matching dollar for dollar all employee contributions.
Yay
2005-09-01 22:35:00 N.O.,
I have got to stop watching the news. I am getting way too into this whole New Orleans
tragedy. I was listening to Z104 on the way home and they were talking to this guy in
N.O. and he was giving his eye witness account of the whole thing and you could just
hear how devastated he was by the whole thing and I just began to weep. More and
more
stories I hear it just gets me so riled up. And now I'm watching Dateline, and
besides
Stone Philips looking more like an android by the minute, the whole thing is just
so
horrible. Arg.
I just need to reread my post of yesterday over and over.

Question:
Does anyone know any good books on LDAP? We here have the last free
version available and no one to administer it. That's where I come it. I need to bone up
but there are so many books out there. I am leaning for the O'reilly because they are
usually the best. Any suggestions?"
2005-09-02 10:13:00 I'm not saying i'm a genius, but these ignorant
people in my office really piss me off. I'm
gonna get in trouble for decking some nit wit in the hallway.

ya know, if you're in Outlook and press 'x' to delete something. Nothing happens. Why
can't everything be likevi.

Coasters and coasters and still more coasters.
What an awesome and much needed little
break from everything. This past weekend Ky and I went to Ohio to go to Cedar Point.
This is the park that I have been wanting to go to forever and I finally had the chance to
go and it was better than I could have hoped. Top Thrill Dragster was down all
weekend which was sad that it was okay. We found plenty of other coasters to make up
happy. So we left saturday morning from Dulles, watched Foster's Home for Imaginary
Friends on the plane on my laptop. Had the COOLEST chick at a flight attendant. She
really seemed to love her job. Got to cleveland and got the car and headed to the park.
Got there like 11:30 and instantly rode the coasters. Millennium Force is right now my
favorite coaster. It's 310ft high, 6595ft long and 93 mph. This thing is like sex. Its fluid
and exhilirating and when you come off the right you can't help but smile. The ride ops
always ask 'How was the ride?" and you can't help but clap and scream because it was
so good. We rode this 4 times in 2 days. The wait for each time was about an hour to an
hour and a half. The back of the car is the best but it is also the scariest. The last ride of
the day was always MF and at 9:30 at night in the dark and you're going up this 45
degree lift hill and a good click and you look up and you can't see the track...damn that's
scary. And everything else in the park was fun too. Rides that you have to ride because
you're there were all good and surprising. I am still in awe. I NEED to go back. Trying
to make this a yearly event. :)
more later. getting to excited

why is it that when all I want to do is fucking work, so i have my headphones on listening
to my ipod and ingnoring all the talk in my cube, that everyone tells me to wake up when
they leave. If I wanted to talk to you I would have said so. And I have never fallen
alseep at work. God I hate people sometimes.
I need Cheese again to make me realize
that kids are cool.

Anyone ever get desk vertigo? I'm sitting here typing on stuff and it feels like the whole
world in see-sawing like a ship in the ocean. Very disconcerting.
2005-09-12 16:55:00
Had a really freaking nice weekend. Spent the weekend at Ky's as usual but this time had
Elizabeth and Stuart (i'm not sure how to spell that... hmm) come down and play.
Everyone showed up around 3 and we vegged and had a beer or two and chatted and
hung out and watched the dogs play. Then during the walk in the back my dogs, as per
usual, found the muddy creek. So i hosed them off but they still STANK. So before
eating we headed to Graves Mill and all frolicked in the water with the dogs. It's so
awesome have two golden retrievers because they love the water and seeing them swim
is the cutest thing. Came back and made tacos and margaritas and had been and vodka
and tequila....well needless to say I was TrAsHeD. Holy shit I felt bad that next
morning.
But that night we all sat out in the driveway and watched stars and chatted there may
have been a moment when I had glow in the dark clip on ear rings on my nipples...but
there i no proof. Sunday we woke up late, Elizabeth made this french bread french toast
with a caramel sauce with real strawberries....yum. We headed to Blue Ridge Pottery,
played Mini golf and then ate dinner and came home. It was just a nice weekend of
getting to know each other and relaxing in the county."

Brokeback Mountain
Wow. Just saw the trailer for Brokeback Mountain and I am more excited than ever to
see that movie. The story was amazing and from the short trailer I was already starting to
well up. It looks like a beautiful moving movie.

funky mood. weather giving me headache.
i miss theatre. i takes up an insane amount of
time, until i can quit my job and do it full time (insert laughter here), but god i miss it.
While I wait for this 562 page iPlanet admin guide to print out I thought I would clean
my gmail and i ran across a bunch of stuff from the summer and then began to think
about how fun that was. Sigh. I need theatre soon, my theatre meter is running low.
i
need to pee.
2005-09-14 11:12:00
heheh ran across this pic from the summer after cleaning my computer at work while on
this EXTREMELY boring telecon. Why do people feel the need to restate the same
thing over and over. Ug.
Ah yes. painfully suburban. Yet so cute with the trying to be gangsta.

And that would be an 'in your face bitch' moment. I freely sing from the roof tops that I
know nothing about LDAP, though I am learning. I just read something about something
called ldapmodify and tried to tell this woman at the office and she was all like 'that don't
exist' and I was all like 'oh yeah it do' and then she went and got all perpendicular on me
and so I called her a bitch and slapped her and she grabbed my dress and we fell in the
pool...
uh..
Well the first half of that is true. The other half was a Dynasty flashback.
Conclusion: she did a man on ldapmodify and lo and behold, there it was. I strutted back
to my desk. :)

i know it's the age old addage but why does the bad stuff taste so good? I mean the good
stuff is fine and drinking water does make you feel better but a salad versus a fat juicy
hamburger is really no contest. And getting to the gym is a pain in the but. I have this
grand scheme to wake up at 6:30, be on the road by 7, at the gym by 7:30 work out for
30 minutes on the Precor, shower at the gym (ick) and then be at work by 8:30 or 9.
Lofty goal yes especially since I am NOT a morning person but I would so rather get it
done in the morning. If my knees weren't so bad, insert joke here, I would run around
my neighborhood. i need a workout buddy. Ballys anyone?
2005-09-15 15:57:00
i like raisins
2005-09-16 15:55:00
ebay is a bad thing. I've given up on working cause people just suck my taint. but i just
bought an old mac classic in so-so condition that i'm going to turn into a bank or
something. And many years ago, like 13, when i was working at the Warner Bros Studio
Store they had a watch that I loved but I was greedy and sold it to a customer for twice
what I paid for it. Its a limited run. Well i found that on ebay as well. I have for some
reason regretted selling that watch. I want to get it back but it's already at $80. Dammit.

Is there a way to shuffle inside of a genre on an iPod?
2005-09-19 13:33:00
Maybe I was preparing for Talk Like A Pirate Day, but on saturday, in the throws of sex
I actually went AAARRRRG. I thought I was going to laugh my head off. I have no idea
where that came from. Talk about breaking the moment.

for the record I hate today and I want it to go away. Thank you.
2005-09-20 13:59:00

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - London Cast of Mary Poppins
Where you are - Rascal Flatts
Perpetual - VNV Nation
Burnin' Love - Wynonna Judd
No wonder i'm so spastic and off beat.

don't you just love it when everything breaks really bad? what makes it more fun is that
this is what we have been telling the developers all along and now that it's happened we
have this sly smile on our faces as we rush around trying to get it all working again.
Silly
developers, dataservers are for the OPS team.

Once again I am asking for donations. I know it's been an incredibly rough time for a lot
of the world and part of me feels like I shouldn't ask for donations in this time of other
needs but this is something that won't go away in just a few months.
If you can donate, I
would greatly appreciate it.

wow, i'm being a dick today. Someone ran over my mental dog this morning or
something. I am antsy, cranky, pissed, and short with everyone I encounter today. I
think this is a reset day.

my thumb smells like vanilla pudding and I have no idea why.
2005-09-23 10:15:00
Nation last night was fun. Good to see people and hang and listen to good loud music. I
am WASTED energy wise. I was even too tired to whack-off ( i love that term) last
night.
Lesson learned last night: Black DOES NOT make people look thin. Well maybe
in the dark but once they walked under the light next to our SPX table, wow, it was
fatalicious. I have no problem with fat people, ok thats a lie. I mean I need to lose a few
pounds, my goal is a very svelte 165, i'm 175 now. I can do eet!
What the fuck am I
talking about...hmm... i dont remember

Safe word is Banana.
Random ramblin's:
I love family guy
Had a dream last night that I was about to get on stage and I had no
idea what my lines were. It was Jaki and Me and Elise and ... there were some other
Rudes there as well and I remember sitting back stage and knowing the script but not
rehearsing it in a while and i was about to walk out not knowing what I was about to
say. It was horrible because I didn't want to let down anyone. Horrible dream to say the
least.
There was something in there with Nation as well. I have always loved the feel of
thursdays and I think i was filming a movie and there were lots of people there, like trinty3kim and hotfix
and nofcna and there was something involving Serenity where trinity3kim had this really cool leather
brown duster and was all kick ass...
Weekend was cool. Sent the majority of the time at
SPX wandering around or working the CBLDF booth. Found a bunch of really sweet
comics and some cool shirts. I also won at auction this litho of a monley under a tree
typing on a typewriter. I'll have to scan it somehow. Ky came up yesterday and we
walked the con floor for a bit and hung out.
Brother and the kids came over last night.
My god son is SO damn cute. He kept walking about to me and saying HI Brett. My
brother gave me brotherly crap about not owning property and I told him I'm trying but
just cause he has a 7,000 square foot house doesn't mean the rest of us can afford
places. Even a 500 sq ft place like i want. lol
Seeing Serenity tonight, hopefully i get
there on time. I NEED to see this movie.

Serenity
Soooooooo goooooooood.
I am actually speechless. That and if I say anything at all, I'll

Mmmm Firefly. Can't wait to see Serenity on sunday. Sadly i can't make it to the show
with everyone on Friday. And so, Firefly quotes:
Jayne:into radio Testing. Captain, can you hear me?
Mal:I'm standing right here.
Jayne:into radio You're coming in good and loud, too.
Mal:'Cause I'm standing right here.
Mal:You know, they tell ya to never hit a man with a closed fist but it is, on occasion,
hilarious.

B)...
Oh crap it's just A
Book:
If you take sexual advantage of her, you're going to burn in a very
special level of
Hell, a level they reserve for child molesters and
people who talk at the theater.
Zoƫ:
Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book:
Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

Wynonna Judd kicks ASS. That is all.

so i'm having this odd heart swell as i sit here listening to all this music that is conjuring up
these wonderful memories and i can't help but think that i am so lucky to have the friends
i do. so many nice and caring and hot and loving people. it's so incredible to think how
many people there are in the world and how many we are around each day that we don't
connect with and for some reason something has connected us. some fall away and
some aren't as close as others but to me that's all part of life. not everyone is going to be
a best friend but even the faintest acquaintence was drawn into your magnetic field for
some reason. i'll be better once i stop listenning to wynonna and once the weekend is
done. thanks for letting me be just a little bit psycho sometimes and all the crap. i need to
poo.
