So i just download Firefox, no, not the movie with Clint Eastwood, the new Mozilla browser. It is, so far, pretty cool. I really love the tab thing. I can't stand having 40 thousand windows open and this is a nice clean way of working. They also have merch for sale on the website and I have to say the Firefox plush critter is pretty damn cute. They also have the Commie looking red star mozilla polo shirt i want. Mmm geeky.

2004-07-06 12:06:00 Moving Jack

So huge and wonderful things happened this weekend. Short of it is that I moved my bf Jack up from Florida to be here in D.C. Its was a whirlwind week and weekend. I think on Monday we decided that I would fly down there, pack up his stuff in a truck and head up. So we did. I was at Dulles super early cause I figured traffic and people traveling was going to be hectic. It wasn't. So i waiting a hour and change before I was called up to the counter and told that I was bumped from my 6:00 flight but I have a seat on the 9:45 and a free ticket. So how could I say no. So me and like 4 other people all bonded as we sat there with our 5 dollar meal vouchers and free tickets. We all piled over to Burger King and got sorta free meals. I spent most of the time talking to this guy names Skyler who was going to Miami just cause he has never been there and his friends that he was meeting down there hadn't either. He was cool and the kinda guy I would like to be if I were younger and had money. He spend a year in Australia backpacking and working. I was jealous. Eventually we got on the plane and they placed us all in the very back, you know, the section that smells like jet fuel and toilet cleaner. Mmmm spicy! And the place was like 1000 degrees. And there was this prissy little faggot of a steward that was off duty but still walking around like he was god's creation because he got to serve me drinks. He irked me. But eventually we got underway and I slept a little and had a gin and tonic and read some Usagi Yojimbo but I was really too eager to get there to focus on anything. We finally landed after some icky turbulence, and since I had no bag, just jumped on the National rent a car bus to get the car. Jack was waiting at home since it was already 12:30 am at this point. Got to National to pick up my SUV which was, when they point out into the lot, a Jeep Wrangler. Not a bad car but not what I needed to pack a bunch of stuff into and then drive halfway up the eastern sea board. After 15 minutes they guy came back and said all they had was a Jeep Liberty. I had no choice and I took it, knowing that the bed was not going to fit. Almost 45 minutes later I finally got the truck and headed to Jacks. Jumped in bed and slept, knowing that the next day was going to suck. Slept for a few hours on one sleeping pill. I haven't been sleeping for shit presumably since I have been so stressed about this move thing. Woke up and started packing stuff into the truck. We got most of the stuff in there save the desk, dresser and bed. These of course being the most expensive things and also the biggest. Ug. Then we were off. We headed into Coral Gables that Friday to get some coffee and breakfast for the car and then we were off. I was so worried at this point that the entire trip would suck ass. I have driven long treks before, Maine and back in 2 days, so i knew I could do it but there was apprehension. But I knew that with coffee, Vivarin and Red Bull, there wasn't anything I couldn't do! Florida was really pretty, at least with the windows up and the A/C on. Georgia sucked cause it rained the entire state. S.C. was the same as Georgia. I got to S.C. late in the evening and I had to get to N.C. before resting and I did. I made it to Fayettsville before everything wore off and I had to sleep. Jack was great and stayed awake the whole time which I know is really hard when you're just sitting there while someone else is driving. But we had some good word games to keep us company. If you are ever in Fayettesville, NEVER stay in the Deluxe Inn. This place was a dive. It was cheap but when we walked in the room, there were piles of white powder on the floor, presumably carper cleaner, trash in the room and it was clear that they never moved the bathroom door to clean behind it. It was a little scary. The pillows were lumpy, the bed was lumpy and Jack had to put his pants on to sleep because whatever cleaning agent they used to do the sheets was still on them and irritating his legs. The place was just run down. They also had no shampoo in the shower. Fucking gross. Woke up and went to the Waffle House for breakfast and then headed on the road again. Finished the rest of the trip in just a few hours and then we were into D.C. We stopped by my house to pick up his mobile phone and talk to my mom and then we were at Shari's house to unpack, drop the truck off, get my car form the airport and then sleep. Lots of sleep. I'm still sleepy. It was a very pleasant time. I wish that we had had more time to get this done but since my nephew/godson was being christened on Sunday the 4th, I had to be back in time. It was pretty but I wish there had been more to see. There wasn't lots to see along 95. But I am here again and Jack is here with me. Yay. :) So that was it. Now the fun begins

  2004-07-08 14:41:00 Head Shots.

Yay. The whole headshot experience was much less evil than I thought it was going to be. It was actually fun! Roy Cox is such a nice guy and he has a wonderful eye. Well, he has two of them but I was referring to the camera. And the camera is nice too. Big, shiny, black. Um, where was I? Oh yeah, so he made everything all cool and easy and we got somewhere around 225 shots with three different looks and I have to say that what I saw looked really good. I would recommend him to everyone. Well, anyone that would need him really. It would be silly to spend the money on photos for no reason. I have to pee.

  2004-07-19 14:50:00

Have i not answered someone's question? I have a feeling floating around that I own someone a response... Hmm. Well, the weekend was good. Had lots to do with the Summer Sampler at Cedar Lane Stage. Had two shows and both went well. Jack came to the opening night went out with some of the actors and we all had a good time at Jaleo. Apparently the fact that Jack and I are dating came as a shock to pretty much everyone in the cast. But they all loved him, of course. Sunday was an odd day since I kept thinking of the event of the previous sunday and that funked me up at times. But I worked the comic store and vegged. It was very boring. I cleaned. Ug. Got my headshots back and I am happy with them for the most part. Well, no, I hate lots of them but my coworkers say that's just cause I hate looking at myself cause they like a lot of them. That's all. I got nothing.

Oh, anyone know anything about staying cheap in London or surrounding areas? I'm trying to figure out what I want to see and then that will make it easier to figure out where I want to stay. I'm thinking youth hostel since I did that when I was in Australia and it was kinda fun. Anyone have any experience?

What is Your Celtic Name? by ladyxiu

First Name:

I have always liked the name Kelly or Shannon for a boy. Also the guys that I knew with those names were hot so that may have swayed me.

2004-07-22 14:43:00 snap

I keep snapping at people today. i don't know why. I am obviously in a bad mood but I can't think of why I am here or what put me here. I am distressed since I usually have an idea of why am in the dumps. I am hedging towards money and the car but I still feel bad that I am short with a lot of people today. And I am swamped as hell doesn't make it easier. Burp

Watchmen From the Hollywood reporter: 'Watchmen' unmasked for Par, Aronofsky "Watchmen," the seminal DC Comics limited series, has landed at Paramount Pictures. Darren Aronofsky will develop and direct the project, which is being written by David Hayter. Aronofsky's producing partner Eric Watson will produce with Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin. "Watchmen," created by writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons, was released as a 12-issue comic book in 1986 and is one of the most critically acclaimed series in the genre. The comic is credited for redefining the superhero genre and is often referred to as the "War and Peace" of comic books. It is a crime-conspiracy story that provided the first realistic look at the behind-the-heroics lives of superhero archetypes. I still fret

So I just realized I haven't had the chance to post anything for a while and since my head is killing me at the moment and the thought of getting back to work scares me, I shall ramble. Meh. This weekend was the last weekend of the first half of the Summer Sampler at Cedar Lane Stage. I was brought in to act in one of the one acts when an actor had a scheduling conflict. It was a small part but it was a lot of fun. The four week series is split into to half of two weeks each. Each set has one last and two short plays. Overall the night runs about 2 hours with intermission (free punch and cookies!) and is a great deal for 5 bucks. The cast for the play I was in, and the one before since the director used one set of people for both shows, were a great bunch of people. It been a while since we have all talked about getting together outside of the theatre and hanging out and seeing movies and stuff. Really a nice bunch of folks. This weekend is my show, well the show that I am directing. It's called Hillside in Hell and should be a blast. I have a wonderful trio of actors who I know will amaze me. It's been hard to take notes cause I really want to see what they are going to do next. So as Saturday approaches I get more and more nervous. Less so than last year because I have more confidence in my the actors but there is that underlying nervousness that gets me. I also really want to be on stage for this show because I really like it. There are some great lines and things to do. Other than that I am working my ass off getting ready to go to England. I am looking for places to stay for cheap and trying to sort through all the things that I have to see and the places I have to go. Ug. Going to heat my coffee and dive back into the pile of work on my desk. It's sick really. If i were allowed to bring a camera in I would take a picture of it. *shudder*

  2004-07-28 11:36:00 Slipping.

Today is not a good day. Overall there is nothing that is really bad but it seems like there are many emotional sinkholes that I feel I keep ... uh sinking into. And it's always the smallest most insignificant things that are the ones the pierce the most. It's all so silly really. Example: They forgot my coffee today at starbucks. Everyday I get the same thing, Venti Red Eye. I never change because hot soy milk makes me nauseous and I want hot coffee in the morning to keep me from falling asleep and running into a bus. Buses! I get to them later. So they finally noticed but gave me a grande instead of a venti and it was already 8:30 and I was late anyway and so I just said something snarky, which she didn't understand - she looks like a drag queen btw, and I left. I was so angry that I had to laugh. I love my starbucks but there is only one girl there, she gives me a free shot or two, that I like and one kid who seems to be on the ball. I am really digging the new Avril CD. Buses. I have ranted before. I will rant again. Why do they hate me? I try to psyche them out by taking my grandfathers car to work today, because I am convinced that they are using some of the traffic camera to track me and only get on the road when I am close. But today there were three (3!!!!!) buses at DuPont. Each letting out tons of people and because all the FUCKERS that sit on the side of the road at 9:08 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) with their blinkers on pretending to be waiting for someone when in reality they are waiting for 9:30 so they can park there. For two hours. They waste a half hour so they can park for two hours. I hate them. So I was trapped behind the buses and, of course, only two turned onto 21st and one went into the circle and, of course, stopped by the Krispy Kreme (still not open yet), and wasn't over enough so that cars could get through. AND while I was stuck there there was a cute red headed guy that looked just like I wished I did. Banner morning...I don't think so. Have I mentioned that I really like the new Avril CD. Jack's in Chicago. Home tomorrow...not soon enough. :) Rehearsal last night went spiffy keen. I am liking this play and I have the best actors. :) Feetarific! My headache is still there. It's been two days. Sigh. That's all. Go away.

2004-07-28 12:45:00

okay, three times i have missed getting something in my mouth. discuss.

2004-07-29 09:57:00

i want to see blood spilled today. i dont think that's too much to ask.

2004-07-29 11:10:00

la la la la lllllaaaa la huh? what's that? it looks like a line of some kind. The other side looks kinda scary. I should probably stay on my side. But then again this side is really getting on my nerves. Hmm. What to do? Long and short of things, if i can't learn to keep my mouth shut, I am going to be fired. The ineptitude going on right now is reaching new heights. And dammit I feel for and care about the software. I want to see it work but they are making it very hard. blarg. All in all though, even including my last post, I am in a happy mood. :) Sometimes. It fluxes. By the minute.

2004-07-30 10:15:00

Open mouth insert ... gee what hasn't been in there,"Rehearsal was fun last night, even with mental breakdowns but some of us. I got the whole thing in film so I am trying to make it look purty. Tangent: I just typed 'fo' instead of 'so' and it reminded me of this GREAT Vicar of Dibley episode. I love Dawn French and the Vicar of Dibley is a great show. I saw it on DVD and have to check it out and see how much it is. But the premise was that there was a new old bible brought into the church where all the 's's looked like 'f's and they were on BBC for something and this sweet not so bright girl was talking about sucking (there is something in the bible about sucking and I presume it's about absolving sins) but of course it looked like 'fucking'...much better when it's on the tele. So cool. I love british comedy. Where was I... oh yeah. so things are coming around pretty darn good. We just need to find a way to keep the ropes around the actors tight. Yes, I have my actors tied up. Yes I have them barefooted. Yes I have a freaking wonderful cast that makes me happy. And i'm not just saying that, Hootie McBoob - err Jane, you guys RoCk!! OH OH OH - Got an email from Kevin Elder last night. Well it was on Friendster but that made me so happy. Talk about wonderful people. He was someone I could just watch on stage all the time. So genuine and nice and cute and kind. He was the best. Is the best. That made me happy. Oh yeah. Told more people about the Ellipsis Phone Story. I can't remember why I started it but then I couldn't stop talking and shared oh so much last night. heheh

Avoid, if you can, sitting on your balls. There is a strong amount of pain there. Had a urge to inform the unwashed masses. Go forth and spread the word and raise it high and hard. goodnight.

  2004-07-31 13:19:00,

max of the car Well here I sit at Carmax. Whoo hoo. I am waiting to get an appraisal on my grandfathers car so we can add it the estate total. Still feels icky driving that car sometimes but then could be the fact that it's a Ford. I think I have a complex that I feel both better than a lot of people and not worthy of a lot of people. It of course all boils down to money. In my phucked up mind I carry with me the impression that money makes you a better person. I sometimes know that's not true but damn having some money would solve lots and lots of things. Talking to one of my actors brought up a little jealousy as he is going to go to LA and try his hand at acting. I wish I could have down that. Could do that. I think he'll succeed too cause he has the looks and with a little refinement of his talent, he could go far. Have I mentioned how much I love my cast? :) This has been a fun experience. I'm just rambling now. Why am I wearing pants? I'm so hot. Ug I want a corndog. I want a nice ice cold beer. And I'm spent. Gotta love the Sidekick.

2004-07-31 16:31:00

you snigger barbara Yeah, still at carmax. Saw a dell ad on tv that reminded of my days in college. These people had filled the hallway with suds and were sliding down the hall. We didn't do that but we used to have these great watergun fights. There would be an inch of watch on the ground...it was great. It was never safe to walk down the hall. Ever. Man we had fun. All until this hag on the upper floors broke her arm trying to do the same thing. Those were good times. We lived in an area called The Swamp. Memories........

2004-07-31 17:13:00 snot

Still at carmax. Still bored.
