i love the interweb. there is nothing that can't be found. I needed to know the toll amount for the Jersey Turnpike since I was using my E-ZPass, and there it was. Sure it's technology overload but shit, bring it on!

And porn. Can we just talk about porn for a minute. Now I wasn't looking for porn but I was googling some actor for a movie and up came PORN! I did a blog jump one day and BAM, there was a porn blog, which then led to more porn blog and a hankering for a humping from the hubby. Mmmm hankering... Anyway so that got me to thinking about porn and how interesting it is. We have You Tube with people getting shirtless and briefy and writhing around, numerous gerneral porn sites...it's freaky. And who are these people who do porn? I really think that a lot of them are stable individuals that just do porn. And lots are most likely abused and abandoned and all that usual crap. I would love to sit down and talk with porn stars for a bit and see what makes them tick. That's always been something I have been interested in. Yes porn jerk jerk splat splat but the people who do it. How do they stay in shape, why do they like to do some of the fucked up things that some fetishists do. I could talk about porn forever.

Heading to Dollywood soon with the boy-hub-friend-sterino. YAY.

Also giddy that my friend Dave has found a new man. He has had this ex in his life, living together and breaking up is so not fun, but now has met this wonderful guy that I have yet to meet. I'm just happy for him.

Weekend Trip Report: Dollywood!

So in our never ending quest to ride every roller coaster in the world, Ky and I went to Dollywood this past weekend. It was my first time there and also my first time to Tennessee. Now, for the record, I loved Tennessee and I will make a LOT of huge generalizations, but then I always to that. First off, the drive there was long. Party because I was tired and not awake and getting a rabid headache which still exists today. It may be sinus or wisdom teeth. I dunno which. So we headed down around 9:45am and got into the hotel around 5ish. It took longer than expected due to rain, lots, and an insane amount of traffic on the Pigeon Forge roads. Pigeon Forge is like a white trash Atlantic City. There were Go Kart tracks, mini golf, arcades and lots of tshirt stands. It was interesting but odd. The woman at our hotel was classic. Boufant hairdo, extreme southern drawl and sweet as can be.

Dollywood itself was a very beautiful park. The theming was done perfectly and since they kept so many trees from the surrounding Smokey Mountains, it was breathtaking. We got there just before opening at 8:30 and headed to the one coaster I knew would be good. It happened to be so much better than expected. It was a woodie, 100ft drop but crossed over and under itself 32 times. It was amazing. We ended up riding it 6 times. It's one of the top coasters we have ridden. The rest of the park was fun. So many nice workers. You throw someone a smile and a howdy and they smile right back. A nice park.

The people. Oh boy. I have never seen so many people with teeth missing in my life. Everywhere you looked people were smiling and they had usually more than two teeth missing. It actually was a little hard to get used to. And the accents! I could not ever begin to copy some of the stuff we heard. At points I found myself just listening to people in line. Yes there were some handsome people there but the majority were overweight, toothless and cartainly lacking in the education department. But even the people in the park were usually really nice. It was actually nice to see people just having a good time and enjoying themselves.

Dolly's part in Dollywood. I love Dolly Parton. We listened to 146 songs straight of her on the drive down and while were there and it was obvious that she is revered there. And rightly so. I had no idea what kinds of stuff she has done for her community. In the county she was born in, she has started this Imagination Library where everychild in the county will receive a book a month from when they are born until they enter school. How awesome is that. EVERY child in the county. And now I belive it's state wide. She also has a museum dedicated to her called Chasing Rainbows. This was actually way too much Dolly to take in. It was a huge love me fest. But the park is really good and going strong for 20 years.

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. This is where we had dinner saturday night. It was freaking awesome! It was a dinner and show. It takes place in this huge arena that seated hundreds where one side was the north and one side was the south (we were south). They serve a 4 course meal that you have to eat with your hands. Then there is the show, where they have bison running around, horses, people riding ostriches, pig races, music, dancing...it was amazing. There was a lot of competition between the north and the south and I got so riled up I was yee hawing at the top of my lungs. I had never done that before and it felt awesome.

Sunday we headed home, tons of dolly stuff in our hands and more music for the car. It was total dolly immersion but it was great. But then Ky and I always have fun on trips. It was a blast.

Oh, the funniest this was that we found a road called Boogertown. We took pictures. More pics will be on blackotter.com soon.

Evan Almighty

Uh. I guess I haven't posted in a while. Been busy. Here are some updates.

Plaza Suite opens this Friday. I am getting considerably nervous about the whole thing. I'm sure it will subside but at this point I am nervous which I always find odd. Once I get up on stage and sorta in that 'flow', everything seems to go great. I guess being off stage for almost a year can do that to you. I'll post more info soon but the dates are this friday, saturday at 8 and sunday at 2, and the next weekend the same.

This past wednesday and friday I did some extra work on the film Evan Almighty. I'll put this behind a cut since i know a lot of you have done extra work so this is just a first timers experience with the whole thing.

It all began about 3 months ago when there was an open casting call in Charlottesville for extras. I was considerably psyched as film has been something that I have always always loved. So as I drove home after the casting call I had those all those silly images of sitting there on set and then someone from the movie walks past me and picks me out to have a speaking role...yes it's crazy but still fun to think about. So months go by and no calls. Then Ky gets a call last monday for some work on tureday but i can't make that so I call the company and ask if they need people on Wednesday. At this point I'm freaking excited as I have no idea what is going to happen the next day but I know, no matter what, that I am going to like it. So I finish work and go to rehearsal for Plaze Suite and then RACE down to Ky's so I can get to bed and up at 5:30 am to get to Crozet, where they are filming, by 7:00. I can't sleep the night before. It's agonizing. And Ky snored. He says I also snored but I just can't imagine that I would do that. :) So I wake up and race in the shower and shave and practically speed down to the Crozet, scared that I'm going to get lost. But I make it. We head to a parking lot and load up on buses and are taken to the site. I was, again, freaking giddy. We were dropped off at the mess hall tent and went in and got our paperwork and began to fill that out. It was off being all alone in this and trying to figure out what to do when a guy came up and told the newbies that if they were done with the paperwork, they could head to costuming. The guy, Mike Judd - the additional second assistant director, was a very cool guy and my first person associated with the production that I had contact with. He was started the trend of being extremely nice to everyone. As an extra I was expecting to be shunned from everyone and herded like cattle and yelled at. I was so wrong. Everyone was nice. So off to costuming I went, sadly without food as I wanted to waste no time and sadly because the food was awesome. They were cooking omlets and there was fruit and cereal and muffins and everything you could ever want. It rocked. Costuming took freaking forever. I was in line for easily an hour and a half. But i was chatting with some people in line and that made it all okay. i finally got to the front and gave my paperwork and got my two outfits, well one outfit but I had two as we were going to get wet that day, and headed to the dressing rooms. BTW, still giddy. After hours getting ready and applying sunscreen, I made my way to the mess tent. Again, right as I got there Mike gave a speech of the rules and stuff and we were off. No breakfast but I didn't care. We walked up the hill to the first stop, the prop truck. Thankfully the bag I had looked okay for a prop and I didn't have to sign out something else, but he was the nicest prop guy. From where I stood (I could spit in your eye without any trouble at all - sorry line from Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte jumped in my head) I could see 5 huge cranes with what I only assumed to be rain machines and one big fucking 400ft Ark.

Part two later one. I will cut this again as I will ramble my damn fool head off.

family guy

So I'm getting ready for bed and slipping in bed when Family Guy comes on and it has an intro that I totally forgot about. Its the one where they use the beginning for Police Squad. God I used to love that show and the fact that they use the intro makes me strangly giddy. It also has the FCC song which is totally awesome.

Have been testing our software the past two days off site and it's been a freaking nightmare. It's been an experience in the annoying as it's taken me forever to finally get permission to get in there and trying to get people to log in as I cannot have root on the box since the agency that runs the test needs to justify it's misereable existance. And the server room is fucking cold. They have blowers over all the racks, but not in the back of the racks but blowing on the front of the racks...which makes no sense. Today I had a heavy coat and scarf and I was still cold. But you walk just past the servers and it gets warm....suffice it to say, they are morons.

Rehearsal is going well. Finghting the usual feeling that I am the worst actor in the troup and that I am bringing the whole show down and that everyone is disappointed in me. For some reason I can't get into this show. The costume I have to wear is fucking insane. I will post pics eventually. But I do think the other 2 acts are going well. I wish I could see mine so that I could judge it. But it is incredible to be on the stage again. I love the rush.

SO.....Come see Plaza Suite this weekend and next weekend. That's right 6 shows. Friday, Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Shows are at the Bullis School in Potomac. I have a graphic somewhere.

Missing Ky as he is in Florida teaching. Looking forward to the play being over to get some free time and hanging out and playing with the dogs and stuff. :)

More on the movie shoot later. There is much more to tell.

Plaza Suite

Well the first night of Plaza Suite is done and it was a great success. The crowd was large and they were very responsive. And someone told me I reminded them of Robin Williams. That made me day :)

The one unfortunate moment happened when one of the cast mates informed us that he has time issues with both of the sunday shows and can't do them. I will have to step in. He apparently had a panic attack. It turned out that the attack came because he is a Mormon and can't work on Sundays and didn't tell anyone until OPENING NIGHT! The more I think about it the angrier I get. But the rest of the show is great. it has really come into its own. So again the info:

Logo

Can't sleep. Very nervous about filling in for the freak at the play today. Still quite angry about it. I had a dream that I exploded at him when he tried to say it was so great that we understood his issue.

Also just found out, through the wonderful world of Tivo, that I have the Logo Channel, that LGBT channel from MTV, i tihnk. I have been watching it ever since I found it and it's amazing what it's doing to me. I have seen shows on the leather community and how it's trying to break the SM connection, the troubles that kids have when they have two gay parents and the group that exists to help them, Tales of the City, a travel show about the gay parts of cities. It really neat and I have lots of show set up on tivo. It's also actually making me prouder to be that man I am. It's making not want to shy away from telling people that I have a boy-hub-friend. Not that I'm all shy about it now but maybe i think i am getting more into the activitism side again. One thing that is for sure is that there is a lot of pain in the cummunity. Yesterday there was a movie on Fire Island that was all about the parties and shows that were great unitl the introduction of the Gay Cancer aka GRID aka AIDS. Needless to say I cried and made me hope that Jack is alright. And through everything I'm just tired of being scared to hold Kys hand when I want to for fear of stupid people doing or saying something.

So yeah i got distracted and I hope that makes sense.

Ky gets back today :)

2006-06-19 15:26:00

Well the weekend is over and I am gosh darn tired. This was the weekend opening of Plaza Suite and now all the excitement has worn off and I am fully aware that I was running on adreniline and nothing else last week. I had a minute ago where I was pretty sure I was alseep but yet still moving on the computer. It was a surreal experience.

The crowds for the show were good. Thanks to Kelley and Kevin for sitting through Blue Hair Sunday and a less the together show yesterday. It's always nice to walk out and see people you know instead of mugging for kudos. Anyway, I felt good but the first act was a little off. My pick up roles went well I believe. It's slightly annoying to not have the time to relax but I do get more stage time, and that's always nice.

2500$ to get my car fixed. and people wonder where all my debt comes from. i am the unluckiest person when it comes to cars. sucks ass

2006-06-29 09:29:00,

I'm back. Slowly.

Plaza Suite ended last weekend and it turned out to be a wonderful run. It was only 6 shows but it was very fun. It's always so much fun to see how a show grows and transforms into something. From the first night to the last night the show just kept getting better. It was a fun show too.

Now I need to find something else to do on stage. As I was walking to my office today had a wave of the rush you feel when you first walk out onstage. I want that again and I want it soon.
