2004-06-01 15:13:00 Long weekend I am so tired. This weekend was filled with more partying that I have done in a really long time. It began Thursday by going out to Nation. This may not have been the best of ideas since I was apparently in rough head space. But A fun time was had nonetheless. Friday I went to dinner with Elizabeth and her family to Citronelle at the Latham Hotel in Georgetown. This was easily the finest dining experience I have ever had. It is a beautiful restaurant and impeccable service. There are two fixed meal options for dinner. One is $125 where everyone orders the same thing and the other is $85 and you choose four courses from the list on the menu. I had Virtual Angel Hair pasta with Razor Clams to start. Then for the seafood course I had Soft Shell Crab tempura style, and the meat course I had Kobe (koybe) Beef. Finished with the best sorbet I have ever tasted and espresso. Freaking good meal. It was one where you sat there and stared off into space while you tasted every bit of your food. So places just cook food to cook food but here they took the time to make it special. Afterwards we went to the Mayflower Hotel for martinis. They were sooooo goooood. A little expensive but huge and well worth it. Saturday was recovery and cleaning around the house. Met up with E again to get stuff for the party and i picked up some spiffy hip glasses at the dollar store. hehe. Party that night was fun. More drinking and food and chatting and long night. lol Sunday was the beginning of body shutdown and after getting to bed at 1,4, and 5 in the morning, respectively, I was pooped and slept till about 1 or maybe actually later. I can't recall. hehe. Went to a party at my ex's house and had yummy burgers and drinks and chatting and stuff. Worked at the comic store on Monday and now i'm at work. blarg 2004-06-02 08:30:00 I would like... I would like... I would like a trip to Europe I would like (fill in the blanks) 2004-06-02 09:04:00 Revenge of the Mummy I was thinking last night, as I couldn't focus on tv or video games and went netting looking for info on roller coasters, how incredible the Revenge of the Mummy ride was at Universal Orlando. I spent a sick amount of time reading about coasters this and coasters that and they all said what a truly incredible ride it was. Hopefully this brand of coaster will take off because, even though there wasn't the huge lift hill or anything, the effects and experience was awesome. I can describe the ride in great detail but I don't want to ruin it for those who will ride. So here is the description: First, as with all Universal rides, the theming is incredible, they really make you forget that you have been standing in line for hours with a nice video presentation about a haunted set and things like that. Look for the crew member in the red hat, he appears later. When you finally get into the queue to ride you see a car that looks like a mine car with four rows (i think) of four across. You get in and the lap bars come down. Pay attention to the ride operators cause they really loved their job and were trying to be way freaky and scary, another reason to love the park. You begin winding down the track at a leisurely pace and the crew man in the red hat is now a mummy and he warns you to go away. Imhotep (can't spell and yes I am too lazy to look it up on line, eat me) pops out of a casket and there is a cool special effect with the crew guy's soul being stolen. It is eerie the way Imhotep moves because it is way too fluid for a anamatronic. The ride continues into a room where Imhotep offers you riches to follow him and death if you don't. Nice use of monitors and this is the use of fire. Mmm fire. Then your car goes a little faster and avoids a door that comes down, speeds into a room of bugs, again nice use of monitors and effects. Suddenly you car zooms backwards down this drop and halts. Totally unexpected. More effects and you car spins and look straight us this tunnel. You car inches towards the tunnel and shoots up the tunnel right into Imhotep's mouth. Now the ride is a coaster and zooming through a practically pitch black coaster area. Its darker than Outer Limits and Space Mountain for sure. Ghostly images pass around and the ride halts in what looks like a loading area. Imhotep appears and wreaks havoc and then the ceiling catches on fire. Very hot in this room. Apparently the temp of the fire at the fire point is 3700 degrees. Then the car zooms down a small section of track and you're done. Excellent ride and tons of fun. 2004-06-02 15:33:00 it bothers me when people laugh too long and look at you while they do it and you have long since finished laughing but in their mind it's still funny. There is a girl like that at my office and it freaks me out 2004-06-03 09:33:00 I am a walking bag of snot. 2004-06-03 11:57:00 my car is all paid off!!!! YEEHAW! LICK MY BALLS BB&T! 2004-06-03 12:00:00 Hairy Cooter and the prisoner of Ass-cabin just sorta came to me 2004-06-04 10:26:00 24 hours. well technically 25. I can't wait. I'm going nuts. In other news I got the plays for the one act thing at Cedar Lane. I am waiting on this guy to call about what play he is going to direct so I can take the other one. One is a funny piece about Sisyshus, his Rock and Prometheus. The other is a sweet piece about this old woman in a rest home that gets a nice visit form a stranger. Both would be fun to do. Got the DVD of the Macbeth show. Wow i sucked rocks, IMHO. I really saw things that I want to work on. Ick. Need voice coach and movement classes. ack. Penis, penis, penis, vagina, vagina, vagina 2004-06-07 14:10:00 Harry Potter I am trying to think about this movie with an objective point of view. I think my downfall was that I finished it Saturday at the airport while waiting for Jack and then we saw it that night. I kinda knew that was a bad idea but since HP is like crack, I couldn't stop. I am very curious to find someone who hasn't read the books and get their point of view on the movie. To me, it seemed like a bunch of chunks of movie strung together with a lot of exposition missing. I am annoyed that they took out a lot of conflict out of the movie. Points of contention: Where was the terror that Sirius Black was running around? No one seemed to be all that scared that Black made it into the castle and slashed the Fat Lady's portrait. I wanted to there to be more fear of the outdoors and the possible doom that everyone thought would befall Potter. The fact that they took out the very end of the movie where Snape and Fudge and other can't find Black anymore and they insist that Potter had something to do with it but he didn't. I wanted more Quiddich. First time Griffendor won the house cup and this time it was only implied. I am unsure if I liked the new placement of Hadrid's place. It seemed a very long way from the castle. I wanted more of the teachers. I know they had small parts in the novel but i wanted a little more. Overall, though, I really enjoyed it. I liked what Cuaron did with it. The ending was very cool and the time shifting stuff was neat and I really liked the camera going out the clock. The effects were all great and I got used to the 'iris out' wipe that was used a lot. I liked how Hermione just appeared in all the classes, always surprising Ron. Lupin was great. Emma Thompson was, as always, great. You could tell that she and the others were having the best time making this film. I need to wait a week and let my mind settle before seeing it again, which I will do, and then make another judgement because I know that certain things have to be sacraficed to make a realisticly timed movie. There is more that I could get into but that can be saved for coffee or alcohol... 2004-06-07 09:41:00 Wonderful weekend. It was a such a nice weekend. Jack flew up to D.C. for the weekend before his trip to Maine for his company. I picked him up from the Airport and we headed to my house and had him meet the mom. Within a half hour they were both picking on me. I can't win :) Then we ordered tickets for Harry Potter and went to the mall to meet some coworkers from other stores in his chain. I picked up some shoes and damn they are the most comfortable things ever. Not my usual black doc but very nice. Then we saw Harry Potter, which I will have to do in another post, and then crashed at the hotel. Sunday we slept in and then started gathering stuff for the barbque at the moms house. I had no idea, well i did but i was still shocked, how expensive it is to do one of these things. Mom helped set up things and Jack made Banana Pudding and we waiting for everyone to arrive. An hour late, hhehe, people started to arrive and then we all had a blast. Everyone got along and chatted and drank and ate. I think I am still full. Ug. But I want to thank everyone for coming and I hope everyone had a good time. Jack did and he enjoyed meeting everyone. It was a little odd how fast he bonded with everyone and then began picking on me. LOL Now he's on a place to Maine and hopefully I can get him here for good soon. sleepy and puffy OUT! 2004-06-07 23:49:00 Trials of Directing So I am directing another piece for the Summer Sampler at Cedar Lane Stage and tonight was the first night of audtions. We had tons of great people but a great lack of men. There are so many parts and no men to fill the roles. If you have have a desire to do a short one act over the summer, the last two weekends of July and the first two of August, stop by. It will be fun 2004-06-09 12:13:00 i should have stayed in bed this morn. It all started when this crazy "nightmare" woke me up. It was odd. It involved many elements of oddness but i remember that god damn fucking clown from the Harry Potter movie was there. *shiver* But I shook it off and figured that since I was up at 6 I might as well rise. Everything was going well until I realized, right outside of base, that I didn't have my badge to get in. I had to wait in the visitor center for almost an hour until it was my time to be called. Got on base, in the office and there is a problem with the project that requires me to work this weekend. Not a fault of mine but a mess nonetheless. But then they did find a problem that was my fault. I want to drink. Heavily. 2004-06-10 12:42:00 Lemony Snickett. I was on iTunes last night snooping around the movies trailer section and ran across the trailer for Lemony Snicketts A Seriers Of Unfortunate Events. Man this looks good. I am, as always, weary of having Jim Carey in the lead role cause, well, it's Jim Carey. But the movie itself looks beautiful which, I know, in itself doesn't mean shit but there is hope. And Glenn Close is in it and I like her. And it's Dreamworks and I like them. I have nothing today 2004-06-10 14:20:00 i miss jack. sorry for being a sap 2004-06-14 10:34:00
Personality cocktail From Go-Quiz.com" 2004-06-14 14:00:00 SO gay. I'm going to see Madonna tonight. yay. A friend just emailed with tickets. squee 2004-06-15 00:18:00 Madonna Wow. So I got an email from an old friend who said he had an extra ticket to go to Madonna. Man the show was so freaking AWESOME! The tour was called the reinvention tour and I can say that she really did it again. Each song she did was different than before in some way like Deeper and Deeper was done as a slow song. Very cool. American Life was super powerful and so much better with her there and singing it. She did Hanly Panky from Dick Tracy even! Here is the setlist: SETLIST 01. The Beast Within 02. Vogue 03. Nobody Knows Me 04. Frozen 05. American Life 06. Express Yourself 07. Burning Up 08. Material Girl 09. Hollywood 10. Hanky Panky 11. Deeper and Deeper 12. Die Another Day 13. Lament 14. Bedtime Story 15. Nothing Fails 16. Don't Tell Me 17. Like A Prayer 18. Mother And Father 19. Imagine 20. Into The Groove 21. Papa Don't Preach 22. Crazy For You 23. Music 24. Holiday I was also very impressed that she actually sang a lot of her songs and her voice is amazing. It sounds like it's better than ever. There was a point where there was a bagpiper, and some drummers...all very cool. She also covered Imagine and it was a very nice rendition while images of children from various coutries flashed of the huge screens everywhere. It was very cool but now i'm tired and I have to go to bed. LYJ 2004-06-15 15:54:00

2004-06-16 13:26:00 Actors Can't live with 'em, can't find a casting couch to accommodate them all. :) I am having a devil of a time getting my actors together for the one act i'm directing at Cedar Lane. I will have two of the three meeting this friday for a little while. I at least gave the one guy a copy of the script last night while I was at the Church. How many times will I utter the words ...at the church.. again. lol Why was I at the church, you ask? Phoebe, another director, called and said that one of her actors dropped out and she asked me to be in her show. I said yes. I'm insane. I will have no free time. But it's a fun silly play. Life is crazy and I'm tired of being helpless. The two people I want to help in the world, I can't. Blarg. 2004-06-18 14:52:00
so, for some reason Sigh. Actors are a strange breed of people and right now that are pulling at my last fucking nerve. I have this one guy, sweet nice guy, who i want in my one act. Apparently he is in two other shows, one I knew about already, and has not enough time to devote to me. I am not dealing with this well and am probably going to kick him out of the show. Shame because he was a really good actor and would have done well with the material. I may need to call on someone to fill in for a role in a 15 min one act or i'll have to do it myself. Sigh. In other news, Jack is likely to be here in under 10 days. For good. :) 2004-06-21 17:20:00 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR GGGGGGGGGGGGGGG 2004-06-21 22:26:00 I'm drinking a Tab. I almost squeed when I saw it on the shelves. 2004-06-23 08:41:00 KKD Oh my god. They are opening a Krispy Kreme in Dupont Circle at the Dupont North metro. Yummmmm. This could be bad as I pass that everyday. Squeeeee 2004-06-23 14:03:00 Games people play Does anyone else play silly games in the car when they drive to work? Example. I head down Mass Ave everyday on my way to South East DC. It is a very circuitous route but it is actually the best way that I have found. Anyway, since it is a direct line into the city from the 'burbs, there are tons of buses mixed in with the car. On most of the route they are fine and only cause a problem if a car is parked along Mass that hasn't been moved at 7 am and hasn't been towed yet. The fun begins usually when I cross over Wisconsin and head down past the Naval Observatory and down along Embassy Row. At this point in the morning the traffic is think but still moving yet it's hard to maneuver from lane to lane cause the 'burbanites in the city are assholes. Anyway, if there is a bus along the route, you know that somehow you will get stuck at Mass Ave and Dupont Circle at two points. The is one bus that I can usually get around if someone is kind enough to let me in or more likely they are reading or talking on the phone and don't notice the huge gap that I can slip into. The situation gets dastardly when the two buses gang up. Oh and I know they do. These two buses always travel together, it's freaky. I have dubbed them Heckle and Jeckle, or dick and wad depending on my mood. And I swear there is some strange physics anomaly that allows these two buses to travel exactly next to me down the main part of Mass Ave. So I 'kinda' race a little cause I know I don't want to get in front of them and there may be a little swerving and thankfully most of the time I do in fact win. But it's crazy, and yes a little unsafe, that when I see the buses ahead of me on Mass, i HAVE to get in front of them. But I think this is all just part of the fun of driving to work. Well, okay so there is no fun in driving to work but still it makes it go faster. I know exactly where all the bumps and pot holes are, when I need to get in the other lane so that I can be in the best that so that I won't get hit in case the idiot next to me doesn't realize that his lane turns also, the light that I try to make after getting coffee, the best lane to avoid traffic... I think i know it all. Thanks you reading this pointless entry 2004-06-27 19:38:00 tits Why, in the name of god, did no one tell me that Charisma Charpenter was topless in Playboy. Damn she's cute and damn she's got some nice titties and damn she's got some big 'ol nipples. 2004-06-28 09:32:00 Random Shit Hi. This is a note to all those folks that I haven't responded to that I should have by now. Things are ... a little hectic at the moment and I am trying really hard to get to everything and everyone I should. Currently I am working on the RM second stage proposal. Once Jack is up here and the plays get into swing and I actually get more than 3 hours of sleep a night, things will get back to normal. 2004-06-29 12:18:00 HP The title for the 6th Harry Potter novel is out: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Which to me in my non sleeping mind has The Artist Once Again Known As Prince joining Hogwarts as a mulato student or more likely he will be taking over the roll of Dobby the House Elf. Oh yeah. Jack will be here for good on saturday. Squee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2004-06-30 15:50:00
