my car just passed 100,000 miles. as i was driving this morning I was sorta awestruck by this number. This means that I have driven around the earth 4 times (earth circumference 24091.55 miles), a little less than halfway to the moon (if my calculations are correct of a distance of 225754.62 miles at it's closet point) and one third of the way around Star Jones. Badda Bing! Oh! I'll be here all week.

4 hours to go Well, filming on the 48Hour film project wrapped up sometime around 1:30 am last night. Waking up at 6, getting there at 8 and waiting and moving things and filming till the wee hours of the morning was a blast. I had the best time. Maybe i'm a little psychotic in that regard but even though my head is pounding, my throat hurts, my feet and legs are killing me, I would film again all day today! I smoked way too much, I injested enough caffeeine to wake the dead and I got to carry a FREAKING GUN! heheheh And there were nuns invloved. Not in the film, but there were still nuns. There is peace in the universe when guns and nuns are invloved, most likely killing clowns. :) Tempers flared, people slept, junk food was consumed, did i mention that i got to carry a gun? Still I think when the dust settles and we can relax again, well we I mean Tim, Jackson and Kelley who are putting the pieces together, we will have a great product and start planning for next year! (too early to mention next year? hehe) Had a blast

Stuff Reminder to people that I haven't emailed cause I'm a tard: Tonight at 9:35 at the Silver theatre in Silver Spring is the 'premiere' of our film for the 48Hour Film Festival. The film is called Aperture and there is info and a trailer Here. Tickets are available at http://silver.afi.com I think is the link. Or search of AFI theater silver spring and you'll find it. It's going to be a blast. Secondly this monday night at the Rosslyn Spectrum, I am in one of the showcase one acts with and directed by . I am very excited to be doing this again. Its free, i think, and starts, I think, at 7:30. I really should check facts before posting but the allure of bacon is taunting me to get to the cafeteria... NUN

snuff One of my favorite sites has this to say about Passion of the Christ: "Who would have thought that a religious snuff filmed spoken entirely in Aramic would have grossed over $600 million worldwide?" I love the fact they called it a snuff film. Maybe I'll check out this Jesus thing. I mean he's kinda hot.

Movie Premiere! So, I am sitting here thinking, which is what i did last night cause my strange allergy cough didn't let me sleep till almost 3, about what an amazing time this past weekend was. I know, slap me if i say that again but i can't wait to do the 48Hour film project again. Last night, as tons of posts have stated, was the premiere of our film Aperture. And what a rush. The screening was at the AFI Silver theatre in downtown Silver Spring and we were in the second set of movies shown that night. We got there early and waited and watched people and I ran into a few old friends that i hadn't expected to be there. We talked about the shoot and kinda relived the experience again. It was fun. People arrived and we finally went into the theatre and I was a fucking nervous wreck. The first to screen was ours and man it sounded and looked really good on that big 'ol screen. Even though it wasn't the final cut, or rather the directors cut, it still was good. It was creepy and fun and disturbing. Sure I may be a little bias cause it was PHUCKING SWEET to see my name on the big screen, but having seen the other 10 films in our section, i still believe that were are one of the best. Almost every movie made me groan at some point or didn't quite give me enough. The duck fucker was just disturbing, the rape one nauseating, the super hero - not so super, the horror was pretty good though i wanted more, and the rest. They tend to fade away. But even though I may not have enjoyed it, it was still fascinating to see what people can do in 48 hours. There are a lot of creative people out there. As for the experience, I think a certain red head is forgetting all that she brought together and all the fun that we all had. Rougher for the three of you yes, but still a blast. Yes we have a number of lessons learned, you always do, but for a first time directing / film effort, you did a phreaking good job. I tip my hat, well if i could find one to fit my huge head, to you and Tim and Jackson. I know I keep saying that and maybe my outlook of the whole thing is rosier cause all i did was sorta act. Anyway, sign me up for your team next year.

Lord I am so ... tired today. I was beat yesterday cause of the cough that kept me up till almost 3 am. Then after making it though work i went with Elizabeth down to the Goth Prom at Nation. Hehe, it was odd at first cause the both of us were tired and things were loud and we both felt suddenly very old. I mentioned that it was more like we were chaperons than anything. Saw and got our usual first drink from Jay, we told him that he looked amazing because really the man never ages, 14+ years going to him and he's always looked the same. Then we ran into people, Colin, Nadra, Doug, Tanya, Tim, Kelley, Hugh, Paul, Justin, Tracy, Slash and more but my head is kinda fuzzy, and chatting and talked and drank and had a really nice time. Anne seemed relieved to see a face that she knew when I went up to her. She's great. Anyway, on Aintitcool.com there is a story about Eddie Izzard trying to get distribution for this doco he did and there is a link to the trailer. It looks really amazing and I hope that it eventually gets out there. Click the link to see a short quicktime vid of it. http://www.halyon.com/doco/

Showcase. I know I should probably wait to write this for fear of sounding cheesy but tonight was the Actor Center Showcase and it was freaking awesome. Getting through the audition was awesome enough but then this was even better. I this was the largest crowd I have ever acted for and the most receptive. We were the 6th of 11 pieces and so the crowd was primed and ready when we came one. Everyone did a great job, even better then the rehearsal performaces, they just seemed to be spot on. When it was over there was a little reception and people kept stopping me and saying was a great show Kelley and I had done. I wish I could have an out of body experience so I could see it so that I would have some frame of reference but it did feel good. My friend did a wonderful time in her scene too. It was awesome to see her cause she is sorta new to acting and man she is a talent. Cute too. In other news, a repost for some. Here is a link to the 48Hour film fest movie. 2004-05-18 00:07:00

Can't sleep. Just talked to a friend on the phone I haven't talked to in like two years. It was awesome. Just wanted to add to my Showcase post: Thank you for making us look good up there and shaping us into a great piece. And thanks to for sharing the stage with me. I always look better with you're up there with me and it's always a pleasure to work with you. I think sleep is coming.

addictive I think i am making LJ a version of my brain, that brain that just reads stuff aloud. Like this: Eddie Izzard has joined Oceans 12, the Oceans 11 sequel. Whee!!

2004-05-19 09:42:00

I'm going crazy Pardon for me being personal but if i have to wake up one more time to my mother crying about money, the lack of a job or the fact that she can't walk without pain, I am going to scream. No, I'm not a totally heartless little fuck but really it's beginning to get to me. And there is nothing that I can fucking do! It has to be the worst thing in the world when your mom is in need or trouble and there is nothing that I can do! FUCK. The smallest things are setting me off to way too strong anger....aka Starbucks with Kim and Kelley on Monday, or the fact that I got a parking ticket getting coffee and it was only a matter of time really and I wasn't all the surprised but that didn't stop me from dreaming that I was smashing the parking meter lady's face into the tree. I want to throw rocks in the windows of cars that are parked after 7:00 am on Mass. I really think I'm losing it but I'm stuck cause I can't afford to leave and she can't afford to have me go. We still have good times and all but I feel like the like I should be living, whatever that is, is being sapped outta me. Joys and excitement only last so long till the reality of the situation hits and then I want to cause serious bodily harm to someone, anyone, everyone. Going to smoke. I'll get to that trauma later. Pave the world, kill a seal.

2004-05-19 09:46:00

In a less psychotic news Went to Baltimore yesterday to assist with a photo shoot. It was cool. But i again realized how much i hate still shots of me and cameras in general. :) Nevertheless it was a blast and I am anxious to see the shots. Roy seemed to like what he saw so we shall see what he saw. Or something. I also found some testicles and signed up for head shots. July 8th is my day. I need to lose 10 pounds by then. hehe But it was a great day. Jess does wonders with makeup. Then we all headed into the Fells Point and had super good sushi. Mmmm. I think I could develop a taste for it. YUM. Then home and that was it. Nice day. :)

2004-05-20 00:48:00

sigh. i feel like I have lost a friend. it may not have been as apocalyptic (literally) as Buffy but in an odd way it felt closer. I dont know if that makes sense. I mean the characters on Buffy were so close and all people you wanted to know and wanted to hang out with but in the end they seemed to become ... distant. Not that I would ever say anything bad about Buffy, i just can't, but the Angel folks were the underdogs that actually lost. They fought Wolf, Ram and Hart (i.e. The WB) and lost. I generally felt sorry when Wesley died. It was such a horrible death and even though it was nice that he was reuinted with Fred, it was still sad (end spoiler) Maybe it was the connection with the rest of the Buffyverse with Spike and Wesley in the mix but Angel really really began to grow on me. But the show as a whole was great. It was funny, shocking, gross, sad, and fulfilling. I got what I expected and more. As networks go i HATE fox but the WB is getting on my nerves too. and i fucking hate reality tv. its the death of written television. snort

2004-05-20 11:49:00

My friend just gave me this really cool publicity photo from the Hungarian episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus. It is so sweet. I have it above my desk to cheer me up. Tho for some reason I am super chipper (no not Super Chicken, though that would be cool) today cause i am heading to Florida tomorrow. tee hee hee. Just picked up my two day/two park pass for Universal Orlando. There will be lots of riding this weekend, and coasters too! Still in Angel shock.

tick tick tick tick tick tick tick i'm going fucking crazy. i dont want to work (ever, but thats not possible) The Mummy ride opens today so I get to ride that tomorrow. I've watched Aperture twice today, each time for different coworkers. They loved it. "Creepy," said this one guy that will come out of the closet eventually. Stupid dweeb. I'm tired but I can't stop moving. I have nothing to say but i just seem to keep typing. sigh

2004-05-21 16:25:00

Jake Gyllenhaal This man makes me moist. Talking about his new gay themed movie, Brokeback Mountain, in which he stars with Heath Ledger, Jake says: "They're all like, 'Dude, you're gonna kiss a guy,'" he said in a recent interview. "But it's not about that for me. It's about how impossible love can be sometimes, and I can relate to that," he added. "As well as that, every man goes through a period of thinking they're attracted to another guy." (Story from Gay.com) The short story is really good too. I can't think of the collection that it's in but it is very well written.

  2004-05-25 13:10:00 Shrek Donkey

. hehe. Yeah so I got home from florida, see next post, and went out to see Shrek with my mom. It was the perfect movie to suit my mom cause my plane had just landed and I really didn't want to be in the fucking state. Part of me isn't even here, it's still in florida. But anyway, this movie had me cracking up all the way through. It didn't have the romantic meeting charm of the first film but I would have been upset if it did. I nstead it piled on the jokes two fold and went through at a blistering pace. So many jokes that i know I missed and I can't wait to see again. All the characters were great, Jennifer Saunders in particular was fantastic. Her dance number with the furniture was to die for. The animation was incredible. I loved the king's face, it was so full of expression. I loved how you could see the freckles on the faces of people or the wrinkle lines when they were up close. Incredible. I really enjoyed it.

2004-05-25 13:57:00

FLORIDA So this weekend I went down to Florida to see Jack again. It was our third time together and we had a blast. I flew down on friday night and got there at midnight since all the other flights were too damn expensive. I got off the place, heart racing and stuck behind a gaggle of Asian tourists. It was comedic really cause I wanted to get around them but couldn't! It was annoying. :) Got out finally and picked up Jack and then went to get the rental car and then drive the little while to his place. It was really good to be with him again but since it was so late and we knew we had to up early we just crashed and slept. Got up early on Saturday and packed a little and headed to Orlando. The drive is about 225 miles and it didnt really seem that bad. It seemed easier than going to NY. Jack and I chatted a bit but then the car took over and Jack slept the rest of the way to Orlando. Got there finally and arked and then hooked up with my coworker and rode some rides! I really like the Universal Park. Everything is neat and clean and organized and all the rides are worth while. The new ride that opened up that weekend was Revenge of the Mummy and it was sweet! Kinda like a Space Mountain thing but better. All dark with a 0-40 blast and cool special effects. I loved it. I think i loved it like 5 times over the 2 days. At park close Jack and I decided to not head out cause of the traffic and stuff so we stayed in the park and saw Van Helsing. I have to say that I really liked this movie. 3.5 maybe 4 out of 5 stars for me. Really neat. Then we had to find out where the hotel was cause I forgot to mapquest the directions and we slept. Sunday we did the same parks but this time we got smart. Universal has this FastPass thing where you can bypass all the lines and it is nice. For 20$ a person you get this pass and it allows you skip the HUGE lines. They you can only ride certain rides once and it all depends on the person checking the passes but for most stuff you can ride again and again. We rode Hulk a number of times in a row and no one said anything. We rode Mummy twice before some people rode it once. hehehe When the park was closing we got in the car and headed home. Jack was alseep in like 15 minutes and didn't wake till I needed him to navigate me through Miami. It was still a ok drive as I just drove and sunk into my brain and thought about things too much. Home, sleep. I woke around 4:30 after getting to sleep finally around 1. This sucked. I was afraid of missing the alarm I guess I was awake and laying there till 6:45 when it was time to get up. I think it was also that I never wanted to go to bed anyway as I thought this would be a way to prevent the dawn. Sadly the dawn came and tearfully I packed and left the house. Made it to the airport in less time than I wanted to but the plane was delayed an hour because the pilot needed a certain about of time to sleep according to FAA rules. This is once when I didn't mind the delay. Tuesday at work. I'm here but not. I keep receding into my thoughts of past and future trying to avoid the acridity of the present. Yes there is no guarentee that the to be or was will be better then the now but the future is filled with hopeful wishes and the past is filled with dreams of twisted clarity. I'm doing my best to remove myself from the shores of the lake of the past but some days it's really hard because you know that you want to have it again, and I want it now and I want it in my arms, and the cruelty of the now is that it can never be how you dream it to be but the joy is the experience of whatever may come. I want the joy.

2004-05-26 17:48:00

Underworld Finally saw underworld. I picked up the extended version something or other and man it was really good. I love Kate Beckensale and i thought that Scott Speedman did a really good job too. But I am glad i picked it up cause it was just a really well made movie. The effects weren't that terrible and the use of guns gave me wood. I could really see it again.

2004-05-27 10:11:00 me tard-ed

why does music do this to me? I'm driving here, here would be the office, and I have the new Harry Potter soundtrack in my car and there is is beautiful part of a song and i get misty eyed. Why does this happen? Yes I am a geek and uber excited about the movie, yes I want to act to bad I can taste it (which mean that I'm, what, going to do a Dunkin Donuts ad? English is a fucked up language), yes i have this obsession with John Williams, yes I'm emotional like a pregnant woman but this happens a lot. Usually I get all gay and weepy when it relates to a memory, most music relates to some sense in my past. Put on The Color Purple and I'll start ballin. I'm a sap. Seacrest OUT!

WONDER WHEN THE WONDER FALLS ON DVD? Wonder no longer! Series overseer Tim Minear is telling people a big-deal “Wonderfalls” DVD seems to be in the works, and could be on shelves before year’s end. One suspects it will sell well! The “Firefly” DVD sold like a mofo, and it only had three unaired eps; the “Wonderfalls” DVD could have as many as nine. But no one seems to be ruling out all 13 episodes airing somewhere. And no one yet seems to be ruling out the series resuming production! THE DEAL ON THE BUFFY TOON! The good news? According to one completely reliable source, “thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean, pretty pictures of Buffy and Sunnydale are being drawn by the thousands.” The slightly less good news? “Buffy: The Animated Series” still doesn’t technically have a greenlight. The activity is on behalf of a pilot-y “short presentation” being engineered by Fox and Mutant Enemy, featuring the vocal talent of Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Stewart Head and others, that will soon be unveiled to a multitude of “extremely interested parties.” Have you seen the number of cable channels out there? For those new to the site, “Buffy: The Animated Series” will deal with the slayer’s Sophomore year at Sunnydale High – as re-created by the monk-types who hatched Dawny Summers. Jane Espenson, mammothly talented writer of many live-action “Buffy” ‘sodes, has already penned scripts for three cartoon episodes. How cool is that??"
